Artist's Description

This series of art began in 2012 about looking for the core of another's personality with just one word. The personification of emotion. The idea began after a boyfriend suffered brain damage due to a violent gang attack on Market Street in San Francisco's Civic Center. The project then started to branch out confront the loss of fellow artist’s and friends due to poverty, drug addiction and the constant housing crises left behind by the crippling financial recession of 2008. This series reflects a very real moment in San Francisco's evolution. One I witnessed, lived through, moved on from but will never forget.

In 2018 I picked back up the idea to include new characters, one's that I feel add a much needed element of hope and light to the dark reality of it’s inception.
