Your image gets printed directly onto a sheet of 1/16" thick aluminum. The aluminum sheet is offset from the wall by a 3/4" thick wooden frame which is attached to the back. Made near Stern Grove Park in San Francisco's Sunset District. This was a really wonderful time my life where I was able to be a full time artist and I realized I had some vision and talent that was uniquely my own. For this I was the model, so I guess it was sort of a self portrait. I was still a terribly shy boy ... still am. For an artist a self portrait is really about confrontation, facing your fears and looking deep within yourself asking, who am I?
