The feature was called "Pain and Ink" The article reads as fallows : Call it a break from his modus operandi, Stark almost threatening landscapes, heavy with symbolic meaning and peopled with teaming gangs of naked youths, would appear to be Rene Capone's favored subject matter. But here San Francisco-based artist steps away from his usual Chirico-meets-Lord of the flies fare to present a more intimate scene. This drawing was made during the rainy season of 2002 in San Francisco" says Capone. "It was one of those drawings that just arrived like a gift. The pencil and the watercolor just fitted magically together to bring out the emotion of the figures. I was going for a sense of tension and beauty ... in the process I feel a great sense of longing came out as well."
Rene Carol Capone (b. September 22, 1978) is an American figure painter known for his depiction of the male form with whimsical, erotic and mysterious imagery; often used together. He also works with stories and myth. Capone began his career as an artist creating dreamlike, sensual, often homoerotic images of young men in search of love, identity, and their place in the world. His paintings and drawings are highly prized by art collectors in the LGBT community, they now hang on the walls of private and corporate collectors around the world.
