The Journey of Zebra boy is the tale of a child in Northern Ohio who runs away from home one winter night in search of the answer to one of life's toughest questions What is love and where do you find it? Montgomery Maxton believes if he fallows the magic unicorn that he keeps seeing nightly from his bedroom window that he will find love at the end of the rainbow. Bringing only notebook and a red wagon he hastily rushes off into the snow to fallow the unicorn. The all knowing magic unicorn senses the chill in his bones and leaves before our hero a gift, One very warm inviting zebra hide. Wrapped in black and white stripes all seemed well But little Montgomery has a secret, he is addicted to sleeping pills and because of this is visited nightly by a cruel and nasty boy named "Shame." Tortured nightly by addiction and his cruel visitor Montgomery wanders the forest falling deeper and deeper into shadow.
Traveling through the woods a young shaman indian boy named "Flying Bear" finds Montgomery asleep in his red wagon. He awakens the sleeping zebra and offers to take him home for a meal. Amused and inspired by Montgomery's odd outfit Flying Bear tells him about the lost ways of his ancestors, the Cayugan indians. Montgomery now understands the gift the magic unicorn left him is meant to do much more than just keep him warm. Back out into the snowy forest, once again on his journey, "Zebra Boy" must stand down Shame in a fight to the death to over come his nightly problem. Armed with the knowledge of the lost indian tribe, Montgomery just might stand a chance at beating his enemy and making his way to the end of the rainbow. "Zebra's always look for rainbows"
