Artist's Description

I call him persistence because I must have drawn him eight times before i got it right. This is part of the "A Boy Named ..." series. Each painting is an image that I feel embodies the name, feeling or emotion of that character. My name is Rene Capone, I am a figure painter and story teller. I believe in the power of the recognizable human form as away to universally express and inspire. The familiarity in the human form asks us to evaluate our own experiences.

In my work I weave familiar elements of story and myth. Within these stories are fictional characters that represent aspects of ourselves. My characters have to find their own voices and it is my hope that my visual audience can find their own voice with them.
