This painting was a self portrait. I bought 15 pounds of red hippie beads from "General Bead" in San Francisco and took a few photos of myself draped in them. It looked mysterious to me and I was feeling introspective, so I was pleased with the results. The original name was Blood Red Jewels, but I decided that was too creepy so I went with just Red Jewels instead.
